Hammer mill hammers (also called hammer blades) is a critical and easily worn spare parts of hammer mills (also known as crushers or grinders). Typically made of high-hardness alloy steel, hammers design, dimensions, heat treatment and manufacturing precision significantly impact crushing efficiency and final product quality. They crush materials via high-speed impact and shearing, suitable for diverse materials (feed, wood, metal scrap, minerals, etc.).

KMST Offers hammer blads in multiple geometries, sizes, and hardenfacing options, but rectangular hammers have been the industry-standard choice. We supply 10000pcs hammer mill hammers per month, and there are two types of hammers based on different hardenfacing.

1. Standard hammer mill hammers

This is the conventional hammer mill hammers in the market, manufacturing process is easier and price is lower compared with tungsten carbide hammers, it is widely used for customers with lower budget.

2. Tungsten carbide hardenfaced hammer mill hammers

Tungsten carbide hardenfaced is higher quality than standard type, and selected by most of overseas customers.

Heat-treated steel base material hardness reaches around 58, we adopted tungsten carbide hardenfaced technology (A 3mm-thick wear-resistant layer is formed on the working edge of the hammer blades through plasma fusion of tungsten carbide particles, which are melted and impregnated into the substrate surface, hardness of working surface acheives about HRC 78). This treatment is enhanced wear resistance, extending service life by at least 5 times longer, compared with conventional standard hammers.

Key Features of Tungsten Carbide Overlay (Hardfacing):
Material: Steel base + tungsten carbide (WC) coating (via spray welding or plasma transfer arc).

Advantages:
Reinforced fixation, reducing vibration and wear on rotor pins.
Suitable for high-torque or high-speed mills.
Reversible design (flippable to extend service life).

Applications:
Heavy-duty mineral crushing (limestone, coal).
Metal/oil palm waste recycling.
Industrial shredders (e-waste, MSW).

Additionally, our quality control is very strictly from material selection to processing and final inspection. Since poor machining precision can disrupt rotor balance, we enforce strict tolerances to ensure smooth operation. We use high-quality centrifugal casting alloy steel for uniform thickness distribution, group and additional weight deviation is less than 5g. Advanced testing methods, including roller convexity measurement, ultrasonic flaw detection, and dynamic balance testing, guarantee superior product performance.
